Common Questions

?

Graduate applicants must submit a completed application form, official transcripts from all universities attended, a statement of purpose, three letters of recommendation, and a writing sample. GRE scores are required for some programs. International applicants must also submit TOEFL or IELTS scores.

Are teaching assistantships available for doctoral students?

Yes. The majority of doctoral students receive funding packages that include a teaching assistantship, a research stipend, and fee remission. Funding packages vary by program and are typically awarded for four to five years contingent on satisfactory academic progress.

Can I apply to more than one program at the same time?

You may apply to more than one program, but each application requires a separate submission and fee. Please review each program’s requirements carefully, as they may differ. Contact the relevant graduate advisor if you have questions about which program best fits your background and goals.

When will I receive a decision on my application?

Admission decisions for most programs are released in late February or early March. You will be notified by email when a decision is available in your application portal. We are unable to provide status updates or expedite decisions outside of this timeline.
